Haruki Murakami's favorite books

Haruki Murakami is a Japanese writer famous for his works such as Norwegian Wood and Dance Dance Dance to name a few. His work, sprinkled with the surreal, often deals with the themes of loneliness and alienation and laments the emptiness of our lives caused by a work-obsessed culture. While his writings are based on Japanese characters, they have an universal appeal. While Murakami loved reading, he did not start writing till he was 29 when ,in the middle of a baseball game, he realized he could write.

Hilary Swank's favorite books

Hilary Swank is one of those rare actresses who have won not one but two Academy Awards. It was not all rosy though. Her parents divorced when she was 13 and her mother moved to LA to support her daughter's acting career. She got a break in the form of a role on the TV series 90210 but was fired after some episodes. This firing however led to her getting a role in the movie "Boys Don't Cry" which put her on the map. She won her second Oscar for "Million Dollar Baby".
